Highschool sweethearts, Nat and Dan hadn’t planned on having a family, with Nat’s medical tests deeming her infertile. However, God had other plans, by blessing them with their firstborn, Calista, in their first year of marriage! Hugo followed shortly thereafter and then Ted came a years later, in August of 2016. Only 5 months later, Ted contracted Meningococcal, and had a week fighting for his life in the ICU. This was a traumatic time for the family, and Murphy’s journey has brought back many memories of that horrific week in hospital. By the grace of God, Ted survived, contrary to medical opinion, and he is the sportiest of the family! Please pray for Hugo and Calista, who have been through this experience before.

What God did with Ted in 2017, we’ve believing He’ll do again with Murphy!

In 2018, the Nowak family was made complete with the birth of Murphy. After nearly 10 years in Christian education in Adelaide, life for them changed in 2019 when they felt to pursue church ministry in Atlanta, USA. In only a few months at the end of 2019, the family packed up their life and landed on US soil in January 2020. A 2-year visa saw them serve in many capacities in the church, and their four children found a great community in their school and church. Since their return to Australia, both Dan and Nat secured jobs at a Christian school in Gympie, Queensland.

After knowing something was wrong with Murphy, Nat pursued medical help for her son. A few trips to the doctors later, the medical staff at a Queensland hospital ran tests and found some abnormal levels, which caused further testing and the eventual diagnosis of Murphy’s cancer.

God has a great plan for each of their children, please uphold all of the children in prayer.

After three months of treatment for Murphy, it became clear that this cancer journey for the Nowaks needed support from every angle. Therefore in December of 2022 they moved back to their home town, Adelaide. It was here that Murphy had major surgery, high-dose chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherepy and too many nights in hospital for any child to bare.

The cancer slowly dissapeared, with remission being declared in Febuary of 2024! And with the incredibly generous community of people that have surrounded this family, the Nowaks were able to relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina, for some leading treatment. Thank you for taking the time to cry, read, believe and pray for this family.
